The Collection Cahiers d’Artistes publicises current trends from the Swiss art scene both domestically and abroad. Through the series, Pro Helvetia has been supporting, since 1997, innovative Swiss exponents of the visual arts, whose works have not yet been published. This promotional instrument serves as the first professional documentation of their work and helps them to establish themselves in the world of the arts. Pro Helvetia’s Board of Trustees select every year eight artists from over 120 applications on the recommendation of an independent jury. The Cahiers are designed by Casper Mangold in collaboration with the artists. The accompanying texts are written by authors of the artists‘ choosing. Each Cahier is published bilingually, both in the native language of the artist and mostly in English.
